PENELOPE CHILVERS

Junior Designer 2023 - 2024

Luxury and beautifully crafted design was the focus of the design department during my time with PC, an approach I relished designing under. During my time as Junior Designer the brand launched the well anticipated SS24 collection, which was inspired by the South African colour palettes and sleek embellishments. I also collaborated towards the inception and delivery of AW24 which introduces a significant expansion of the accessory and footwear range – I am very excited to share a glimpse of what will be coming this winter season when the collection launches later this year…

Key Skills

& Responsibilities

  • Effectively interpret design briefs through the lens the brand’s design sensibilities and explore new opportunities to expand product range. For Penelope Chilvers the intention was to interlace the brand’s roots of Spanish artisan craftsmanship and emerging trends to deliver a beautiful staple piece to last throughout the seasons.

  • Identify and present brand relevant trends; translating them into imaginative brand appropriate designs across footwear & accessories. Creating seasonal mood boards using trend analysis to present to company stakeholders. Pitching new season shapes to refresh future season lines.

  • Attend brand relevant trade shows, i.e Lineapelle, Futurmoda, Pure to collect pertinent market research and explore innovations.

  • Efficiently build product specifications and working closely with manufacturers to implement sample developments to reach critical path deadlines.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure product is best presented to the customer. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with industry collaborators.

Working directly with manufacturers on a daily basis to uphold clear lines of communication and track progress of product developments.
